Percussion / Drums:
Alan has been a serious drummer for many years. Playing projects with some regularity. He along with Gary Rissmiller and Marko Marcinko are about to launch a percussion ensemble named P.P.P. (Pocono Percussion People). More “Drummers” from the region will be tapped to participate. We’ll keep you posted as things develop.

The "Alan Gaumer Quartet (AGQ):
Circa 1978: After playing with P.F & the Flyers for more than two years, Alan got an opportunity to experience a different kind of freedom when the late Willie Lamson, jazz enthusiast, booked a gig for Alan and a rhythm section to open up a show for the great Barry Miles band SILVERLIGHT. Following this show it seemed everyone had the same question. So
is this what youre going to be playing now? {Incidentally the two quartets were such a great contrast to one another that they ended up playing quite a good many shows together over the next year.}
However through the next several months Alan wondered what that question meant. One evening while reviewing both a recently taped set of AGQ and one of the last recorded sets of P.F. & the Flyers it finally dawned on AG what all the question was about. In short the band was indeed playing very differently.
..but most important of all, they were cookin.
The Quartet core instrumentation was as follows: Alan on trumpet (perc., vocal, whistler) along with guitarist Tom Kozic and drummer Gary Rissmiller has remained consistent for over thirty years. while the Bass chair has seen a host of the areas wonderful candidates anchor that position with great authority.
On and off right up to the present day the quartet has continued to perform together building a repertoire of hundreds and hundreds of songs from the great American songbook.
